Buckle Up Because The Possibility Of The NBA Returning At Disney World Just Got More Real
Now this is what I'm talking about! I'm telling you, every day now we get more and more positive news from Shams/Woj about a potential NBA return. While the idea isn't all that new, the fact that the league is taking this seriously and not just considering it but has it as the frontrunner is great news for everyone involved. There are still a ton of logistics to figure out I'm sure, but finding a location to resume the season is obviously pretty high on the list.
I knew the second I read Keith Smith's idea that it made too much sense to not do.
and make no mistake about it, this was all Keith's idea. Before he put out that story all we really heard was Vegas as a possible bubble city location. Then that article came out and the next thing you knew Disney Chairman Bob Iger was at the NBA's Governors meeting last month and it caught even more momentum.
I think it's safe to assume this will be without fans, but honestly who gives a shit. We just need basketball back. We need to see how these playoffs unfold with everyone at 100% health. As long as everything can be figured out safely, this is by far the best idea. Everything in a centralized location, tons of courts already set up, hotel rooms out like you read about, it's a no brainer.
This is why I held out hope. For a tweet like that. We're on Day 71 of this shit and at times it looks bleak with leagues like the Drew League and The Big3 shutting down their season, but Shams bombs like this is what we need to keep going. We're still a few weeks away from the NBA's timeline of officially making a decision, but all signs are pointing to basketball indeed coming back. Give me a set in stone date this summer and I'll wait as long as I have to. It could be July it could be August, I mean shit May is practically over and that didn't take too long.
Honestly though, Keith needs to be allowed to attend the games when this all goes down. He basically saved basketball for the rest of us and for that I am forever thankful. Just hold on a little longer, this is almost back in our lives
